Creating An Image Gallery On Posterous Using Your iPhone
Dale Chumbley just asked me a question on Twitter. He asked, "How did you get all 6 pics here? Specific app?" Since this will take a little more than 140 characters, I thought I'd answer the Posterous question on Posterous. :)
Dale, yes, it is a specific app, but it's one that comes built into the iPhone. It's the camera app. One of the new features of the iPhone OS 3.0 is the ability to select multiple photos to send in an email. To do this, open up the camera and then navigate to your camera roll. When you are on the screen where you can see all of the photos you've taken, click on the action arrow button in the lower left hand corner.
You will now see three new buttons along the bottom - share, copy and delete. You can now select multiple photos by clicking on the thumbnails. Once you've selected your photos, you can use the share button to automatically have them placed in an email, use the copy button then paste them into the body of an email, or delete them all at once.
The iphone limits the share button to five photos. Also, if you're using an apple provided email, it will not send more than five photos. You can use a different email account to get around this limitation. If you want to send more than 5 photos, use the copy button and paste the photos into the body of your email. Using the copy function also sends the photos at full resolution. The share function reduces the photo size to 800 x 600.
Once you're photos are in the body of your email, send the photos to Posterous and Posterous will automatically create an image gallery like this succulents photo gallery. You can also create photo sets on Tumblr in the same manner.
