Moving Up My iPhone App Chart With A Plastic Bullet

It usually takes a while for an app to make it to the front page of my iphone. AutoStitch made it after the first test. So did Hipstamatic and Photoshop Mobile. And now, I have moved Plastic Bullet from Red Giant Software to the front page as well. I have a fascination with iPhone photo manipulation apps that mimic analog cameras. Plastic Bullet fits that description.

Part of the joy of the "plastic camera" simulation apps, like Hipstamatic, is the surprise factor. You're never quite sure how the photo is going to turn out. Red Bullet provides a different take on this theme by allowing you to pull photos from your library for processing. It then presents you with random results in sets of four. If you don't like the ones you get, you just click the refresh button and it provides four more. I've used it all day today, starting at the gym this morning. And I have loved some of the results, like this flower photo

The only downside... once again, it's final image size. Plastic Bullets saves the processed photos at 800x600 pixels. My guess is that they will release an update with higher resolution capabilities. But for how I plan to use it right now, that size will do just fine. I highly recommend.
