Grafton, Utah - Ghost Town

The sign says it all... DEAD END.

Photo

We usually spend our summer vacation in Grafton, West Virginia. This summer we decided to make a shorter drive and share A vacation with our neighbors, the Whitmans. So when Mike Whitman pointed out Grafton, Utah on the map we used to get to the Zion West Rim Trailhead, I couldn't resist making a detour on our way home.

Grafton, Utah is an historically preserved "ghost town" four miles off of State Route 9, between Springdale and Virgin. There are no signs off the main road. So take Bridge Street and then follow the signs. The paved road ends about a mile in, but the dead end at Grafton is worth the trip. I'll post more photos when we get off the road. :)

Eleven Kids At Panquitch Lake, Utah

Put the Turner kids and the Whitman kids together and you get eleven pretty quick. :)

This was taken at the edge of Panquitch Lake, Utah and enhanced using the Vihgo iPhone app. It is one of my favorite apps to play with after shooting photos.
