Engadget Twitter Fail

Engadget has a nice little iPhone app that allows you to share to Twitter. So far so good, except they do a poor job of creating the message, focusing on themselves and not on the post... And the message is not editable.

If they want people to use this, they need to use a short URL and input the article tile as the base for an editable tweet. As it is, it has limited utility.

Checking out Twitter's New Mobile Design

Nice improvements, but I'm left wondering why there is no retweet button on search results. Check it out for yourself at http://mobile.Twitter.com

New Twitter Spam: Let Your Friends Know They're Hacked

As a rule, your friends don't mean to spam you. They make the mistake of clicking on a link sent by a trusted source. So, do your friends a favor and let them know they've been hacked. Seven different accounts have sent this to me in the last 20 minutes.

Clue: If a link is has a random bunch of letters in the domain or subdomain, like this one "qwecvgfjk" it's probably someone up to no good.

And My Favorite New Tweetie 2 Feature...

Recent #hashtag support. This will come in very handy during conferences.

New Tweetie 2 Features

Tweetie 2 for the iPhone is out and it's filled with some very nice features, not the least of which is threaded direct messages (not pictured). Below are some screen captures.

I like the new "quote tweet" feature and the options to add user data to your address book. The follower features will be of more value to me in their desktop app, since I rarely use my iPhone to vet followers.

All in all, it feels familiar and improved. I just wish it would have sucked in the 8 accounts I had set up in Tweetie 1. So, I'm off to add some accounts. :)

If you fell prey to the "is this you" DM...

The DM below may be what is now being sent from your Twitter account. You should log in, change your password and de-authorize any service you don't remember authorizing to have access to your Twitter account.

Who Are "The Twitter Guys?"

I have not watched this show in years. And this is what i see? Are you kidding me? $25,000 question on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire." And he got it right. Without using a lifeline. Shocked.
